# Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Institute

Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing® is a Manufacturing Innovation Institute (MII) funded by the Office of the Secretary of War under Agreement Number W911NF-17-3-0004, and part of the Manufacturing USA® network.

Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing was created in January 2017 through Carnegie Mellon University winning the bid to create a robotics-focused Manufacturing USA Institute and now operates as a separate non-profit robotics and AI institute. We exist to strengthen U.S. manufacturing through innovations in advanced manufacturing technology, particularly robotics and artificial intelligence (AI), and prepare the workforce to work alongside these technologies. We foster collaboration between those who can create & maintain robotics in manufacturing with those who can utilize these solutions for maximum economic impact. Working across industry, government, and academia, we leverage a robust consortium to fulfill our vision and mission.
